What is Tarot?

Tarot is an ancient art which dates back through the centuries, possibly to the days of ancient Egypt No one is completely sure where Tarot originated from but we do know that in 14th Century Italy, the card game of Tarocci - from which the name Tarot was possibly derived - was very popular. 

Today, tarot acts as a mirror to the inner soul - a way of empowering yourself to understand the complexities surrounding issues affecting your life.....and the many paths open to resolving them.

What Tarot is not

Tarot is not a method of definitive fortune telling.  Fatalists would have you believe that our lives are mapped out for us but we always have free will and choices. instead Tarot acts like a 'road map',  providing you with the most likely outcome should you keep on the current road ahead, but also offering you several alternative routes. The ultimate choice is always yours.

Tarot is not evil, or connected with the devil or spirits in any way - even though there is a 'devil' card in many popular packs. This relates more to temptation than evil and, in my belief system, there is no devil anyway, so you are in safe hands ;-)

Tarot is not part of any specific religious belief, nor do you need to belong to any specific sect or discipline to read it.

Tarot will not tell you when you or your loved ones are going to die. The Death card actually represents a forthcoming transformation from one situation into another, not physical death. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Tarot cannot be used to for anyone other than yourself, so it is not possible to do a reading which will give you insight into another's life, just your own....but the cards may well highlight unexpected aspects of your relationships with others.

How to choose your Tarot Reading

1)  Decide upon a question you may want to have answered and make it an empowering one.  A good example is something like:

What does the tarot have to tell me about my relationship

What does the future hold for my financial situation

not

When will I get pregnant?

or

Who will be my future husband?

2)  Then decide whether you want a quick snapshot of energies surrounding your question (one card spread), a detailed look at your situation (three card spread) a more in-depth analysis (seven card spread) or a full 12 monthly predicitive spread for your year ahead.

 

3)  Finally visit the relevent card description and book your reading online
